Sony Pay-TV Coming To The US

With a $99 Streaming & Gaming Box (PlayStation TV) in place, there’s new fuel for speculation about an upcoming OTT Pay-TV service to be broadcast via these boxes.

CEO Shawn Layden has confirmed plans to launch the service by the end of the year. He also acknowledged the difficulty of the task ahead, especially in gathering the relevant set of content rights for Live TV and VoD.

If Sony can solve the content conundrum, their TV offer could truly disrupt the TV biz.
