Online Video On TV On The Rise
A study by Parks Associates shows that online video viewing on TV has reached 3 hours/week in the first quarter of 2014 and has equalled viewing times on PC. While viewing on PC is going down, viewing on TV has risen from 2,3 hours in 2013.
The explanation is simple: Youtube and OTT services are readily available on connected TVs and Blu-Ray players, on gaming consoles and through streaming devices like Chromecast or Boxee Box.
It’s also easy to predict that this is a trend that will gather momentum, the better the streaming video content offer gets and the more households are equipped with the devices mentioned above.
