15 Billion Downloads From Google Play (formerly known as Android Marketplace)

While the Android Marketplace hit the 10 bn download milestone last December, the rebranded Google Play Store has quickly helped the Mountain View company reach the next milestone. 15 bn downloaded apps. Hooray for Google!

Apple’s iOS app store, which has been around a couple of months longer than Google’s Android Marketplace, has reached the 25 bn download threshhold in March. For more on Apple’s numbers, you must go here!

Microsoft’s Windows Phone Marketplace is nowhere near those numbers.
